GATE Mock Exams

The GATE mock exam will run the students through the 4 areas that are examined in the order they are sat.

What does My Academy’s GATE Mock Exam offer?

The exam starts with the reading comprehension, followed by the written expression with then Maths and finally Abstract Reasoning. It is a great opportunity for the students to become comfortable with the exam environment and lessen any anxieties they might have about the exam.  For some it might be the first real exam they have sat and the more preparation for the actual day the better.

How can My Academy’s GATE Mock Exam help?

The University of South Australia has just completed a study on exam anxiety and states that “Preparing yourself for an exam is like an athlete preparing for a major event. Not only do you need to feel committed to the event and think positively about it, but you also need to actively prepare for it.  Exams are physically demanding as well as mentally and emotionally demanding. You will need to look after your body too if want to successfully make it through the exam period.”

The GATE mock exam is designed to give the students the much needed practise and to be as prepared as possible.  It gives the students the opportunity to experience the exam setting and develop their confidence before the actual event.  As well as practise answering the questions on the separate answer sheet, which can cause difficulties when under pressure on the day of the GATE exam.

All the students’ parents will receive the marks they have scored and a breakdown of where the scores have been achieved. Parents are then able to book in an appointment with Rachel to discuss any concerns or the best options for continued preparation for the exam.

When does My Academy run the GATE Mock Exams

The GATE mock exams run in September, November and February each of these dates have different papers, so it is possible to experience the exam three times and see how many improvements have been made.  The GATE mock exams are run on Sundays to ensure that the center is quiet and there are no other distractions. This very popular exam practice is limited to 20 participants each time.
